Let’s talk: Travelling with Erasmus+
August 31, 2026 📍Lehota pod Vtáčnikom, Slovakia
In the afternoon, we gathered in the beautiful new space of the library in Lehota pod Vtáčnikom for our Let's talk: Erasmus+ edition. The snacks were ready, and the atmosphere was great and energetic from start to finish!
We kicked things off with an introduction to what Erasmus+ actually is. For many, the idea of traveling without costs sounds too good to be true, but we broke down how it works. We explored the various mobility options available, from short-term youth exchanges to training courses, and highlighted the massive benefits of participation. Beyond just having your travel and accommodation funded, it is an unparalleled opportunity for personal growth and non-formal education.
The highlight of the afternoon was hearing from our special guest Jakub, who recently returned from an Erasmus+ project in Turkey. Jakub gave us a fantastic look at his experience, going far beyond just sharing fun travel stories to dive deep into the core of the project. He explained the hands-on, interactive nature of non-formal learning during the workshops, noting that one of his biggest takeaways was gaining practical strategies for how to act and communicate effectively in conflict situations. Beyond the structured activities, he shared fascinating insights into what he learned about other cultures simply by living and working alongside young people from all over Europe. To wrap up his segment, Jakub opened up about what surprised him the most during the mobility, proving that these projects constantly challenge your expectations and encourage genuine personal growth.
To give everyone a real feel for the Erasmus+ vibe, we watched a short after-movie from Jakub's project. Seeing the energy, the friendships, and the activities on screen really brought the whole experience to life and showed exactly why Jakub believes everyone should try a project like this.
We wrapped up the event by opening the floor to the audience. There was a dedicated space for questions and it was amazing to see the curiosity. Whether people were wondering about how to apply, what to pack, or if they needed perfect English to participate.
A huge thank you to everyone who came out, filled the new library with such fantastic energy, and made this Let's Talk session a success. 💛
