Cross Over 2026
February 4-7, 2026 đPĂșchov, Slovakia
We recently took a big step forward by attending the Cross Over 2026 training course in PĂșchov, Slovakia, organized by NIVAM.
Usually, when you hear Erasmus+, you think of youth exchanges, traveling, and meeting new people. But this training was the behind-the-scenes work that makes all of that and even more possible. It was a deep dive into how to build long-term projects known as Key Action 2 (KA2).
It was 4 days of intensive information absorption. We learned that having a "cool idea" isn't enough. To get funding and actually make a change, you need to solve a real problem. That means digging deep into the need of the target group. We analyzed common mistakes that organizations make when applying for grants. By knowing exactly what not to do, yellow xyz can write better proposals, hopefully have higher chance of getting approved and bring more opportunities to our town.
Beyond the theory, it was a great chance to meet other youth workers from across Slovakia. The participants came from different sectors of youth work, which sparked diverse discussions. We also had the valuable opportunity to consult on our specific project ideas and get expert feedback on the spot.
We came back with notebooks full of notes and heads full of plans.
